Students wanting homestay placement must apply for this service at least two weeks before their confirmed arrival date in Sydney.
- The minimum stay with a host family is four weeks. After the four weeks period, any agreement for further stay should be arranged between host family and the student. Please discuss your intention to continue with your host family at least one week before the last day of your stay. If you decide to stay with your host family after the initial four weeks, homestay fees should be paid directly to the family.
- Students will be provided with breakfast and dinner on weekdays and breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekends.
- The host family will provide the student with his/her own fully furnished private bedroom. The bedroom will be equipped with a bed, bedside lamp, adequate wardrobe, drawer space, a desk, a chair and a heating device in winter. The student will also have access to common areas of the house.
It is necessary the student will keep his/her own room and the common areas clean and tidy at all times.
- The host family wil provide the student with clean linen and towel during the duration fo his/her stay.
- The host family will show the student how to get to and from their school by public transport.
- The student will abide by the rules of the host family with regards to smoking, will not use any illegal drugs in the house, will not have guests or parties in the house without consulting with the host family.
- The student will inform the host family in adequeate time if he/she is not going to be home for meals or if he/she going to be late home or if he/she will be staying away for the night.
